Each film that has been confirmed by our booking process and sent to us either by Hard Drive or download link has a (within 90 day) turnaround time.
Definition: “A turnaround time of up to 90 days, meaning the delivery will occur at any point within the 90-day window. While we cannot guarantee completion prior to the 90th day, our goal is to deliver as promptly as possible within that time frame.”
Upon receiving your footage and assets, should you require an expedited turnaround time, a rush fee of 50% of the original project cost will apply. Unless otherwise discussed and agreed upon. You can suggest a date you need your edit by and we will do our best to fulfill your request, although we cannot promise the suggested date we will do our absolute best to deliver the edit by that suggested date.
For example: If you’ve booked a 3–6 minute highlight film with OUTPOST BLACK at a cost of $1,000, opting for delivery outside of the standard 90-day window will incur a rush fee, bringing the total to $1,500.
If a quicker turnaround is essential, please inform us as soon as possible. Availability for expedited requests is limited, and we will evaluate our current capacity to determine if we can accommodate your timeline. Once assessed, we will confirm whether an expedited delivery is feasible.
This applies to any film sent for review Via Frame.io or email.
All comments or revision requests are required to be on Frame.io. This will ensure our communication is accurate and understood.
You’ll receive one hour of free revisions. This includes; story changes, dialogue changes, music changes, shot swaps, and color changes OR anything at all that is commented on frame.io or via email that is requested to adjust.
Once the free hour has been depleted, a $75 an hour charge will take place until the adjustments are complete. If the adjustments requested are initially predicted by our editors to take longer than an hour we will do our best to notify you before we make the adjustments, however we are not responsible to notify you or responsible for the additional charge that may take place beyond the free hour.
It is your responsibility to imagine the time it may take to adjust/change based on your request.
SENDING AND RECEIVING FOOTAGE
Preferred Methods for Receiving Footage
To ensure a smooth and efficient process, we recommend the following methods for delivering footage:
Shipping hard drives via USPS, FedEx, or UPS.
File sharing through Dropbox.
File sharing through Google Drive.
Why only these methods? These options are chosen for their reliability and efficiency, minimizing the time required to securely transfer footage from one system to another. They provide a streamlined experience compared to other alternatives, ensuring your project progresses without unnecessary delays.
Any other file sharing method will need to be discussed and agreed upon beforehand or the other preferred methods apply.
Alternative Options A one-time $250 fee will apply. This fee covers the cost of a 4TB LaCie external hard drive and prepaid postage, which we can arrange for you to simplify the process.
EDITING RAW FOOTAGE Raw footage being defined as “all of the unprocessed, unedited video files gathered from the video shoot that come directly from the camera.”
RED RAW (R3D), Canon Cinema RAW Light, Sony RAW, Panasonic RAW, Arri RAW, Nikon NEF RAW, Fujifilm RAF, and Cinema DNG (a universal RAW format)
– We strongly recommend you do not send us Raw Footage for our Overseas Editing Services. If absolutely needed the price will be twice the cost of your edit booked. Example: You booked a $600 overseas edit and you sent us raw footage. The cost will adjust to twice the amount which equals $1200.
– Please let us know if you’re sending Raw Footage for our US Based VIDEO EDITING so we may plan accordingly.
Depending on the format and additional work needed for transcoding you may or may not be looking at a fee of $75 an hour for ingesting.
You may ask “Why the extra fee?” It all comes down to transfer time, transcoding time, equipment needed to properly edit efficiently and the overall additional time someone is staring at a computer waiting for footage to load.
Raw = endless possibility = unpredictable time allocation = more money.
ARCHIVING FOOTAGE We do not retain or archive footage or assets beyond 30 days after project completion. It is your responsibility to download and securely archive the delivered assets upon receipt.
